Hunt selected for world cross country

Athletics Australia has today announced running2london athlete Jeff Hunt has been selected in a five man Australian senior team to complete at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships to be held on the 28 March in Bydgoszcz, Poland. This will be Jeff’s second major Australian team representation after his successful debut at the 2009 World Half Marathon Championships.

James Nipperess training blog: 7/12/09 – 10/1/10

In my opening race (the NSW 3000m), I ran my second quickest time ever for that distance. I strung together three solid weeks of training after this and was rewarded with a five second personal best at the De Castella 3000m event (8:06) at the Zatopek Classic. I pushed a world championships representative until the final lap and left nothing out on the track that night.

Cross country trial

The selection trial for the 2010 World Cross Country Championships is being held at Melbourne’s Brimbank Park on 17 January, and vying for positions in the Australian team will be Running2London squad members Jeff Hunt and Emma Rilen. Hunt has enjoyed an ideal build-up to the event, having placed 4th at the recent Zatopek Classic 10000m in a personal best of 28:19 minutes.
