NSW short course cross country

Tomorrow afternoon, 17th July, Running2London athletes James Nipperess and Jeff Hunt will go head-to-head at the 2010 NSW short course cross country championships. It will be youth versus experience when James and Jeff battle it out in pursuit of the gold medal.

Fresh off an 11:12 split at the road relays last week, James will be out to claim the 2010 NSW open short course title. With three silver medals in his pocket this winter already, a step up to the top of the podium is by no means far-fetched. It will be a tough task to achieve, increasingly so with training partner Jeff in the field. A proven performer over cross country, Jeff is a multiple NSW cross country winner, a multiple medallist at the Australian championships (including a win in 2007) and recently ran for Australia at the 2010 World Cross Country Championships. In their first open cross country race against each other, many will be eager to see who comes out on top.

They will be competing over a winding course at Rydalmere, which possibly lends itself towards the athletes who can accelerate out of the turns. With an intense battle likely to ensue, these two athletes and the rest of the field will make this a race not to be missed.
